UTeach Dallas Scholarship

The UTeach Dallas Scholarship is a needs-based small scholarship to help those students who want to become teachers, but are hitting financial hardships, especially as they enter their final semester and enter Apprentice Teaching. These scholarships are specifically for those who do not meet the Charles Butt Foundation Scholarship or the Noyce Scholarship or other available scholarship requirements.

Scholarship Application

The application requests the following information along with demographic details.

  • their interest in completing the UTeach Dallas program, 
  • their commitment to teaching
  • how receiving the scholarship will allow them to do this and stating the requested amount up to $3,500. A very small number of special cases will be considered for larger amounts, up to a maximum of $5,000.
  • include a statement of how this need-based scholarship will allow you to stay in the program.
Recommendation Letter

Please include one (1) letter of recommendation from a UTeach Dallas Master Teacher.
Include this Rec. Letter form with your letter. .docx .pdf
Submit this letter to the UTeach Dallas Associate Director by the due date.

Other Documentation

You MUST also submit the UTD Required Form for all Scholarships on campus.

Scholarship Timeline

Fall Scholarships are due on or before May 1st (or the Friday before if it falls on a weekend) of the previous semester.

Spring Scholarships are due on or before Nov 15th (or the Friday before if it falls on a weekend ) the previous semester.

To apply Submit all required documentation to our UTeach Dallas Associate Director, Mrs. Katie Donaldson, by the required due date or the Friday before if it falls on a weekend:

  1. Download, complete, and print the Application below
  2. Obtain one Recommendation Letter & include the Rec Letter Form with it.  
  3. Download, complete, and print the UTD Required Form below

The applications will then be reviewed by the UTeach Dallas Scholarship Committee.

Awards will be announced within three weeks of the application deadline.
